Unfortunately, due to various factors, Mankind folded just as it was beginning to get some critical notice. My understanding is that the editors had other projects they wanted to pursue, and editing Mankind was just taking too darned much time. (This is a common reason web publications fold.)
I'm still quite proud of the pieces I wrote for them. Even if some of them were "Oh, god, the deadline is tomorrow and I'm drawing a blank; let's see if we can turn stream of consciousness into something publishable", most turned out well in the end.
